WHEELING, W.Va. — A scheduled maintenance and painting project at the Intermodal Transportation Center will temporarily impact access near the busy downtown corridor at 14th and Market Streets this week.
Work is taking place near the entrance to Public Market, an area with steady foot and vehicle traffic throughout the day. Officials say the project is part of ongoing facility improvements aimed at maintaining and upgrading the transportation hub.
During the construction period, customers are being encouraged to adjust their entry points. The primary recommendation is to use the main center entrance or the west entrance located closest to WesBanco Arena.
City officials say the work is expected to last up to two days, though the timeline could shift depending on weather or other unforeseen conditions.
The City of Wheeling is thanking the public for its patience and cooperation as crews complete the improvements.
While short-term access changes are expected, officials emphasize that the project is intended to enhance the overall condition and appearance of the facility for long-term use.
