BELMONT COUNTY, Ohio — A 72-year-old man died after a UTV crash Saturday in Washington Township, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

The crash occurred on June 6 along Township Road 101 near State Route 148.

Investigators said a 2009 Yamaha UTV was traveling eastbound when the vehicle left the right side of the roadway while negotiating a turn. The UTV then struck a railroad crossing sign and overturned.

Both Ronald Street and Debra Street suffered serious injuries and were flown by STAT MedEvac to UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh for treatment.

Authorities said Ronald Street later died from injuries sustained in the crash.

Investigators reported that neither occupant was wearing safety equipment at the time of the accident. Troopers also stated that alcohol is not believed to have been a factor.

The crash remains under investigation by the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
