The Wall That Heals to Visit Belmont County This October

ST. CLAIRSVILLE, Ohio — The Wall That Heals, a traveling replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C., will make a stop in Belmont County this fall, giving residents an opportunity to honor those who served during the Vietnam War.

Organizers recently announced that American Legion Post 159 in St. Clairsville will serve as the title sponsor for this year’s event.

The traveling memorial stretches approximately 375 feet in length and stands more than seven feet tall at its highest point. It also includes a mobile education center featuring photographs of service members, local veterans, military memorabilia and historical exhibits.

Visitors will have access to interactive experiences, including name rubbings, audio tours and assistance locating names engraved on the memorial.

Tourism officials expect the exhibit to draw thousands of visitors from throughout the Ohio Valley during its four-day stay.

The Wall That Heals will be on display at the Belmont County Fairgrounds from October 1 through October 4. The exhibit will be open to the public 24 hours a day during its visit, and admission is free.
