SOUTHEAST OHIO — Strong thunderstorms swept across southeastern Ohio Tuesday night, leaving thousands of residents without electricity and causing scattered storm damage throughout the region.
As of 11:30 p.m. Tuesday, utility outage reports showed the following customers without power:
- Licking County — 5,043
- Washington County — 2,346
- Muskingum County — 1,553
- Noble County — 944
- Monroe County — 604
- Perry County — 89
- Guernsey County — 18
- Belmont County — 1
- Morgan County — 0
In addition to the widespread outages, storm damage was reported in several areas as the line of severe weather moved through the region. Downed trees, damaged power lines and other storm-related impacts were reported, though officials continue to assess the extent of the damage.
Weather officials are encouraging residents to report storm damage, including photos and descriptions, to assist meteorologists in evaluating the severity of the storms.
Utility crews are working to restore power, and additional outages or damage reports may be reported as cleanup efforts continue.
