BROOKE COUNTY, W.Va. — The Brooke County Republican Executive Committee has selected Commissioner Christina White as its nominee to appear on the November ballot, where she will seek to serve the remainder of an unexpired county commission term.
White was appointed to the commission earlier this year after former Commissioner A.J. Thomas resigned before completing his term. The upcoming election will allow voters to choose who will finish the remaining time left in that term.
According to party officials, committee members unanimously voted to nominate White during a recent meeting.
Republican Executive Committee Chairman Jimmy Willis said the committee is confident in White’s leadership and believes her experience in county government has prepared her for the role. Before joining the commission, White served as Brooke County’s 911 director.
White said her priorities include encouraging economic growth, supporting opportunities for young people and remaining accessible to residents throughout the county.
She said she wants to continue working on projects that strengthen the community while making herself available to hear concerns and ideas from constituents.
The race for the unexpired commission term will be decided by voters during the November general election.
