WHEELING, W.Va. — While John Marshall High School’s football team did not make the playoffs this season, a video from their Friday night game against Wheeling Park has gained international attention.
A clip from the JMHS Media telecast showed a Wheeling Park defensive lineman sprinting down the field after an interception to score a touchdown. The highlight aired on ESPN’s SportsCenter Saturday morning and was also picked up by CBS Sports, which distributed it to its worldwide affiliates.
The viral video has brought national recognition to both teams and highlighted the excitement of high school football in the Ohio Valley.
