WELLSBURG, W.Va. — As the annual Wellsburg Applefest kicks off this weekend, the Brooke County Historical Museum and Culture Center is opening its doors to welcome festivalgoers.
The museum, located on Charles Street, will be open today through Sunday from 1 to 5 p.m., offering visitors a chance to explore exhibits highlighting the county’s rich history, culture, and heritage. Organizers hope the extended hours will encourage Applefest attendees to step inside and learn more about the area’s past.
The Wellsburg Applefest, a long-standing community tradition, features a weekend full of activities including a grand parade, live entertainment, craft and food vendors, children’s games, and of course, plenty of apple-inspired treats. The event draws visitors from across the Ohio Valley each year and serves as one of Brooke County’s most popular fall celebrations.
Museum volunteers said pairing the festival with the open house is a way to connect local history with community festivities, giving residents and visitors alike more reasons to enjoy Wellsburg’s downtown.
The Applefest continues through Sunday, with events scheduled throughout the weekend.
