AEP Ohio Seeks Rate Cut That Would Lower Residential Electric Bills by Just $1.22

0

COLUMBUS, Ohio — AEP Ohio has filed an agreement with the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio that would reduce electricity distribution rates for customers across the state.

If approved, residential customers who use about 1,000 kilowatt-hours of electricity per month would see their monthly bills decrease by approximately $1.22. The proposed reduction applies only to distribution charges and does not affect generation or transmission costs, which can fluctuate based on market conditions.

AEP Ohio says the rate decrease reflects updated cost projections and operational efficiencies. The Public Utilities Commission of Ohio will review the agreement before making a final decision on whether to approve the change.
