‘Demented’ Horror Show! Cloak & Dagger Mid-Season Finale Set for Saturday in Weirton

WEIRTON, W.Va. – The Ohio Valley Cloak & Dagger Company will present the mid-season finale of its “Cloak & Dagger On the Air” series Saturday at 4 p.m. at the Top of West Virginia Convention and Visitors Bureau in Weirton.

The production, titled “American Nightmares,” will feature live audio drama performances based on stories by legendary writer Arch Oboler from the classic radio anthology series “Lights Out.”

Organizer Pete Fernbaugh said the show will blend horror, suspense, and social commentary while paying tribute to one of radio’s most influential writers.

“What I like about this mix of stories is how they explore horror and terror from different angles, which was Oboler’s trademark,” Pete Fernbaugh said. “Two of these stories are out-and-out demented, and two are more subtle. They represent our collective nightmares not only as humans, but also as Americans.”

Fernbaugh said the stories touch on themes ranging from family relationships and celebrity culture to true crime and capitalism, creating what he called “an adventure in storytelling.”

“American Nightmares” will feature longtime members of The Wayward Saints, including Sheila Cavalette, Bethany Fernbaugh, David Gaudio, Noah Hilton, Karissa Martin, Clare McDonald, Ralph Parissi, Maura Danielle Reiff-Parissi, and Micah Underwood. Live sound effects will be provided by The Holy Foley Molies.

Admission is free, though donations will be accepted to help cover production costs. Doors open at 3:30 p.m. with live music from R.J. Gaudio, Troubadour.

The performance will also be livestreamed on the Ohio Valley Cloak & Dagger Company Facebook page.
