ST. CLAIRSVILLE, OH — The community is invited to gather in downtown St. Clairsville this Memorial Day for a special ceremony honoring the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to the United States.
The ceremony is scheduled for 7:30 a.m. on Memorial Day and will take place alongside the riders of the nationally recognized Run For The Wall, a group known for its annual cross-country mission of remembrance and tribute to America’s military heroes.
This year’s program will feature special remarks from Major General Gregory W. Batts, a highly decorated retired military leader whose career spanned nearly four decades, including key leadership assignments both in the United States and overseas. Organizers say his message will reflect on service, sacrifice, and the meaning of Memorial Day.
The ceremony will also include a traditional firing salute by American Legion Post 159 and patriotic musical selections performed by the St. Clairsville High School Band.
Community members are encouraged to arrive early, as Main Street will be temporarily closed during the ceremony. Parking will be available behind the Belmont County Courthouse.
Organizers say the event is an opportunity for residents to come together in remembrance, gratitude, and respect as the nation pauses to honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to their country.
