GUERNSEY COUNTY, Ohio — Emergency crews responded to a crash involving a passenger vehicle and a semi-truck on Interstate 70 East near the Quaker City area early Wednesday morning.
The accident was reported shortly after midnight and involved a car that struck the rear of a semi-truck in what responders described as an underride-type collision.
Firefighters, law enforcement officers, and EMS personnel responded to the scene after reports of head and leg injuries. One person was identified as a trauma patient and was transported to a hospital for treatment.
Authorities requested two tow trucks to remove the damaged vehicles, including the passenger car and the semi-truck’s trailer.
The driver of the passenger vehicle was removed from the wreckage and placed into an ambulance before being transported from the scene.
Additional details regarding the extent of injuries and the cause of the crash have not been released. The incident remains under investigation.
