BELMONT COUNTY, Ohio — Emergency crews responded Sunday evening to a serious vehicle accident near the Belmont-Monroe County line that resulted in at least one patient being airlifted for medical treatment.
According to reports from the scene, first responders were dispatched at approximately 8:27 p.m. on June 7. Limited information was immediately available regarding the circumstances of the crash.
Rescue personnel worked to free those involved, successfully extricating all patients from the vehicle or vehicles involved in the incident.
Due to the severity of injuries reported, a medical helicopter was requested. Emergency crews established a landing zone shortly before the aircraft arrived.
The helicopter landed at approximately 9:08 p.m., and at least one patient was transported from the scene for further treatment. The individual’s condition has not been released.
Authorities have not yet provided additional details regarding the cause of the crash, the number of people involved, or the extent of injuries sustained.
