ODOT to Replace Overhead Traffic Signs on Main Street in Wintersville

WINTERSVILLE, Ohio — Drivers traveling through Wintersville can expect to see new overhead traffic signs installed along Main Street in the coming weeks as the Ohio Department of Transportation moves forward with a long-planned replacement project.

Village officials said the existing signs have become faded and worn over time, making them more difficult for motorists to read. The updated signage is expected to improve visibility, navigation and overall safety for drivers traveling through the area.

According to Mayor Mike Petrella, the village has been working with ODOT for several years to bring the project to fruition. Construction is expected to begin later this month or sometime in July.

Officials believe the improvements will be especially beneficial for visitors and motorists unfamiliar with the area, while also enhancing the appearance of one of the village’s busiest corridors.

The project is expected to be completed quickly once work begins. However, drivers are encouraged to use caution and watch for crews working along Main Street during the installation process.
