Fatal Ohio Crash Claims Lives of Woman and Two Children

UNION TOWNSHIP, Ohio — Three people, including two children, lost their lives Monday afternoon in a crash involving a sport utility vehicle and a tractor-trailer in southern Ohio.

According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the collision occurred around 2 p.m. at the intersection of State Route 32 and Coal Dock Road in Union Township.

Investigators said a Chevrolet Traverse driven by 30-year-old Hannah Howard was traveling north on Coal Dock Road when it entered the intersection and was struck by a tractor-trailer pulling an empty logging trailer.

Howard, along with 9-year-old Gunner Howard and 5-year-old Peyton Howard, died at the scene as a result of the crash.

The driver of the tractor-trailer was not injured, according to reports from the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

State Route 32 was shut down for several hours while emergency crews responded and investigators processed the scene. The roadway has since reopened.

The crash remains under investigation.
