Three Martins Ferry residents are facing felony charges in two separate child exploitation investigations. The Belmont County Sheriff’s Office says Michael Stiles, Hayley Lovell, and William Burwell were arrested after cyber tips from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. All three are charged with pandering obscenities involving a minor.  

Mike DeWine is considering whether to sign Ohio’s School Bus Safety Act. House Bill 3 would increase fines for illegally passing a stopped school bus to as much as $1,000 and allow school buses equipped with cameras to capture evidence of violators.  

A bipartisan effort is moving through Congress aimed at bringing more oversight to college athletics. The Protect College Sports Act advanced through a key Senate committee. Shelley Moore Capito says the current name, image and likeness system needs major reform.  

And a century after changing the future of Wheeling, Earl W. Oglebay is being honored with a new statue at Oglebay Park. The monument commemorates the 100th anniversary of his gift of Waddington Farm to the City of Wheeling, creating the park enjoyed by generations of visitors.
