WEIRTON, W.Va. — Weirton City Council appears poised to give final approval Monday to an ordinance increasing the city’s municipal service fee to $5 per week.
Prior to the council meeting, city officials will hold a public hearing on the proposal at 6:30 p.m.
City leaders say the additional revenue will be used to hire six more firefighters and reopen the County Road Fire Station.
