Ohio Valley Man Accused of Firing Into Home Filled With Children, Faces Dozens of Felonies

MARSHALL COUNTY, W.Va. – A Cameron man faces dozens of felony charges after allegedly firing about 15 rounds into a Marshall County home occupied by 15 people, including multiple children.

Matthew Lee Horn, 36, was arrested and taken to Northern Regional Jail following the late-night incident on Dragon Highway. Marshall County 911 received a call just after midnight reporting a man trying to force his way into the residence.

Investigators say Horn had been involved in a verbal dispute with family members before arriving at the home. When he was unable to get inside, he opened fire while occupants hid within the walls. Deputies found multiple bullet holes in the side of the house consistent with a 9mm pistol. Horn was located nearby in his vehicle and arrested at gunpoint. He later admitted to firing the weapon.

Horn faces 15 counts of wanton endangerment with a firearm, 15 counts of attempted murder, and 11 counts of child abuse creating risk of substantial injury.
