STEUBENVILLE, Ohio — Nine new businesses have opened in Steubenville over the past few months, with city officials pointing to the activity as a sign of growing economic momentum downtown, according to WTOV.
Among the new openings is Steubenville Works, a co-working space at 168 N. Fourth St. that has already attracted 25 members. A new tech startup called Bookish has also launched, part of what Downtown Business Association Executive Director Andrew Morris described as a broader effort to diversify the city’s business climate. Morris updated City Council on the developments during Tuesday’s meeting.
In other downtown news, Bookmarks received a $2,500 grant to renovate its children’s space, and a commercial kitchen installation at the Grocery Box has been completed. Officials also noted that another property on North Fourth Street is under contract, with more details expected soon.
