Circus Saints and Sinners Commit $100,000 to New Pediatric Center at Wheeling Hospital

WHEELING, W.Va. — The Circus Saints and Sinners organization has pledged $100,000 to support the new Robert Sonneborn Family Outpatient Pediatric Center being developed at WVU Medicine Wheeling Hospital.

The commitment will be funded through proceeds from Party On The Plaza, the annual music festival held in downtown Wheeling. Organizers announced the pledge ahead of this year’s event, which is scheduled for July 11.

The pediatric facility, currently under construction in the former Continuous Care building, will span approximately 17,000 square feet and provide expanded healthcare services for children. Plans for the center include dozens of exam rooms, laboratory services and advanced imaging capabilities.

Festival founder Paul Smith said the donation represents a long-term commitment from the organization, with the funds expected to be contributed over multiple years.

Since the festival’s launch, organizers have partnered with WVU Medicine Children’s as a primary beneficiary. Supporters say the event has grown into one of Wheeling’s signature summer gatherings while helping raise money for pediatric healthcare initiatives.

Hospital officials also unveiled plans to recognize the donation with a circus-themed mural inside the new center. The artwork will be designed in collaboration with students from West Liberty University’s graphic design program and displayed near the facility’s entrance.

Officials said the pediatric center remains on track for completion later this year.

Organizers have not announced a timeline for when the full $100,000 pledge will be fulfilled.
