HUNTINGTON, W.Va. — A woman died after being struck by a vehicle along Interstate 64 in Huntington earlier this week, according to West Virginia State Police.
Troopers responded to the scene on the westbound side of I-64 on June 10 after receiving reports of a pedestrian who had been hit by a vehicle.
Authorities said 36-year-old Kristy L. Manley of Huntington was found in the roadway. Troopers and the driver involved in the incident provided aid until Cabell County EMS arrived.
Manley was transported to St. Mary’s Medical Center, where she was later pronounced dead.
Police identified the driver as 61-year-old David J. Kennison of Lawrenceburg, Kentucky. Investigators said he remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities.
The circumstances surrounding the crash remain under investigation by West Virginia State Police.
