WHEELING, W.Va. — Community leaders, business organizations and development partners gathered in Wheeling this week to discuss ongoing revitalization efforts and the challenges that come with growing the region.
The luncheon, organized by Wheeling Heritage and local partners, brought together stakeholders from across the public and private sectors to share ideas and discuss opportunities for economic development.
Topics included attracting new businesses and residents, expanding housing options, strengthening the workforce and supporting redevelopment projects throughout the city and surrounding communities.
Leaders emphasized that collaboration between organizations remains critical to moving major projects forward. Representatives from economic development agencies, local government, nonprofit groups and the business community highlighted the importance of working toward shared goals for the city’s future.
While participants pointed to positive momentum across the region, they also acknowledged ongoing challenges. Among the most significant obstacles discussed was securing funding for development initiatives and long-term growth projects.
