Two dead in Ohio motorcycle crash involving Harley towing a camper

TUSCARAWAS COUNTY, Ohio — A motorcycle crash in Tuscarawas County claimed the lives of two individuals Sunday evening when a Harley-Davidson towing a camper trailer overturned and ran off the roadway.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol reported the incident occurred just after 8 p.m. along U.S. Route 250 near mile post 13 in Goshen Township.

According to investigators, 47-year-old Keith A. Morris of Uhrichsville was driving a blue 2003 Harley-Davidson motorcycle eastbound on U.S. 250 while towing a camper trailer. His passenger was 44-year-old Jill L. Morris.

Troopers say the trailer began to sway, causing the motorcycle to lose control. The bike overturned and slid off the right side of the roadway.

Jill Morris was pronounced dead at the scene. Keith Morris was transported first to Cleveland Clinic Union Hospital, then later airlifted to Akron General Hospital where he later died from his injuries.

Troopers say neither of the two was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

Multiple agencies responded to assist, including the Tuscarawas County Sheriff’s Office, New Philadelphia and Dover Fire Departments, the Tuscarawas County Coroner’s Office, and Jim’s Towing.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol says the investigation remains ongoing.
