CARROLLTON, Ohio — Residents in the Village of Carrollton will have an opportunity to dispose of unwanted household items during the annual Spring Cleanup event taking place Wednesday, May 14, 2026.
The cleanup is being organized by the Village of Carrollton in partnership with Kimble and will provide curbside collection services for approved items throughout the community.
Village officials say the annual event is intended to help residents clear out large household items and improve neighborhood appearance ahead of the summer season.
Cleanup Preparation Guidelines
Residents are asked to follow several preparation rules to ensure items are collected properly:
- Items must be under 4 feet in length and weigh less than 50 pounds if not bagged
- Appliances containing Freon must be serviced and tagged by a certified technician before pickup
- Furniture, mattresses, box springs, and carpeting must be wrapped in plastic
- No 55-gallon drums, barrels, or cardboard boxes will be accepted
Items That Will Not Be Accepted
Officials say the following materials will not be collected during the cleanup event:
- Hazardous or toxic waste
- Oil, batteries, paint, and tires
- Appliances containing Freon without proper certification
- Construction or demolition debris
- Concrete, dirt, brick, or stone
- Fluorescent light bulbs
- Flammable materials
Residents are encouraged to place approved items curbside before collection begins and carefully follow all posted guidelines to avoid missed pickups.
